IFBC Blue Crystal Societies Regional Directorate
Regional Overview
The IFBC Blue Crystal Societies Regional Directorate is an integral part of the International Federation of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC) and serves as the Regional Directorate for the National Blue Crystal Society delegations operating in countries where the humanitarian emblem traditionally associated with the national society is the Crystal.
The Regional Directorate provides strategic leadership, regional coordination, institutional development, humanitarian diplomacy, operational support and capacity-building to the National Blue Crystal Societies. Working in partnership with national delegations, it strengthens humanitarian preparedness, disaster risk reduction, emergency response, community health, volunteer development, institutional cooperation and international humanitarian partnerships in accordance with the mission, principles and objectives of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement.
The National Blue Crystal Society delegations organise and implement humanitarian programmes, emergency response operations, community-based initiatives and volunteer-led humanitarian activities within their respective countries under the strategic guidance, coordination and regional support of the IFBC Blue Crystal Societies Regional Directorate.

Regional Functions
The IFBC Blue Crystal Societies Regional Directorate works to:
Coordinate humanitarian cooperation among National Blue Crystal Societies.
Strengthen emergency preparedness, response and humanitarian recovery capabilities.
Support the establishment, development and institutional strengthening of National Blue Crystal Societies.
Promote volunteer leadership, humanitarian education and professional capacity-building.
Facilitate international humanitarian partnerships and regional cooperation.
Support community health, medical outreach, disaster resilience and humanitarian development programmes.
Promote humanitarian diplomacy, innovation, sustainable development and peacebuilding.
Represent Blue Crystal humanitarian priorities within the global IFBC framework.
