
The Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement conducted an official humanitarian coordination and orientation meeting with community representatives and volunteers in Assam.
The meeting was organised under the leadership of Mithlesh Karna, Founder, Director-General & Secretary-General of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement.
The meeting was held from 01:00 PM to 06:30 PM and focused on strengthening grassroots humanitarian engagement and operational coordination.
During the session, participants were provided with an overview of the organisation’s humanitarian mandate, legal framework, operational structure, and ethical responsibilities.
The training included guidance on:
- Community disaster preparedness
- Volunteer mobilisation and youth engagement
- Coordination with local governance institutions
- Humanitarian crisis response mechanisms
- Legal and ethical responsibilities of authorised representatives
The meeting was attended by the following representatives:
- Sanjana Bhuyan – State Coordinator, Volunteer Mobilisation & Youth Engagement (Assam)
- Satyaprabha Das – Authorised Humanitarian Volunteer, Assam Blue Cross
- Chandra Prova Borah Das – District Community & Local Governance Liaison Officer, ICBC-Corps
- Rekhamoni Das Tanti – District Community Affairs & Panchayat Liaison Officer, ICBC-Corps
Participants were also trained on working methodologies and field coordination practices to ensure humanitarian activities are conducted lawfully, transparently, and in alignment with international humanitarian principles.
