198 National Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies
Building a Worldwide Humanitarian Network – For All Humanity
Who We Are
The International Federation of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC) is proud to announce the continued development of its Global Humanitarian Network, with the strategic objective of establishing and strengthening 198 National Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies throughout the world.
This global initiative represents one of the most significant humanitarian development programs of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement, designed to create a unified network of national humanitarian organizations committed to serving humanity through compassion, volunteerism, resilience and international cooperation.
🌎 A Global Humanitarian Vision
The IFBC National Society Development Programme seeks to ensure that every nation has the opportunity to establish an independent National Blue Cross or Blue Crescent Society operating within the principles, objectives and humanitarian values of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement.
Together, these National Societies will serve as humanitarian partners working to strengthen communities before, during and after emergencies, disasters and humanitarian crises.
Our Global Objectives
Regional Directorates
The worldwide network of National Societies operates through IFBC Regional Directorates to strengthen regional cooperation and coordinated humanitarian action.
Our Purpose
To strengthen humanitarian action worldwide through the development of National Societies that provide humanitarian assistance, emergency response, community resilience, health services, education and sustainable development initiatives without discrimination.
A world where every nation is supported by a strong, professional and volunteer-led Blue Cross or Blue Crescent National Society working together under one humanitarian family to protect life, uphold human dignity and promote peace, resilience and sustainable development.
