Humanitarian Medical Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (HMBC)
Medical & Healthcare Arm of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement
The Humanitarian Medical Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (HMBC) serves as the dedicated medical and healthcare arm of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement, bringing together humanitarian medical professionals, emergency responders, healthcare volunteers, and public health specialists committed to protecting life, promoting health, and delivering compassionate medical assistance to vulnerable communities worldwide.
HMBC operates through a global network of humanitarian medical personnel who are members of the Faculty of Humanitarian Medics (FHM) and its specialist Faculty of Humanitarian Medicine Doctors (FHMD) under the International University of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (IUBC), the Movement's "University for Humanity."
Our members also serve within the Humanitarian Medical Blue Cross Corps and the Humanitarian Medical Blue Crescent Corps, forming an international humanitarian medical response network capable of supporting emergency medical operations, disaster relief, humanitarian missions, community healthcare, public health campaigns, and long-term medical development programmes.
Our Mission
To save lives, reduce suffering, strengthen healthcare systems, and ensure that vulnerable populations have access to humanitarian medical assistance before, during, and after emergencies through professional medical services, volunteer action, education, innovation, and international cooperation.
Our Vision
To become one of the world's leading humanitarian medical networks by developing highly trained medical professionals, strengthening emergency medical preparedness, supporting resilient healthcare systems, and delivering compassionate healthcare to communities everywhere.
