IFBC North American Blue Cross Societies Regional Directorate
Regional Overview
The IFBC North American Blue Cross Societies Regional Directorate is an integral part of the International Federation of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC) and serves as the Regional Directorate for the National Blue Cross Society delegations across North America.
The Regional Directorate provides strategic leadership, regional coordination, institutional development, humanitarian diplomacy, capacity-building and operational support to the National Blue Cross Societies throughout the region. Working in close partnership with national delegations, it strengthens humanitarian preparedness, disaster response, community resilience, volunteer development, public health initiatives, emergency medical services and international cooperation in accordance with the mission, principles and objectives of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement.
The National Blue Cross Society delegations organise and implement humanitarian programmes, emergency response operations, community-based initiatives and volunteer-led activities within their respective countries under the strategic guidance, coordination and regional support of the IFBC North American Blue Cross Societies Regional Directorate.

The IFBC North American Blue Cross Societies Regional Directorate works to:
Coordinate humanitarian cooperation among National Blue Cross Societies.
Strengthen regional disaster preparedness and emergency response capacity.
Support the establishment and institutional development of National Blue Cross Societies.
Promote volunteer leadership, humanitarian education and professional training.
Facilitate cross-border humanitarian partnerships and regional cooperation.
Support community health, social welfare and resilience programmes.
Represent regional humanitarian priorities within the global IFBC framework.
