International Church of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (IChBC)

Through these initiatives, the International Church provides spiritual guidance, counselling, pastoral care, prayer services, and humanitarian chaplaincy support to disaster-affected and vulnerable communities around the world.

Our Vision

To become the world's leading humanitarian Christian communion that strengthens unity among Christian communities while advancing peace, reconciliation, humanitarian service, and hope for all humanity.

The International Church believes that sustainable peace among nations begins with understanding between faith communities and that greater harmony among Christian denominations contributes to wider interfaith dialogue and global peace.

The Church is not governed by any single Christian denomination. Instead, it welcomes churches from various Christian traditions while fully respecting their individual beliefs, governance structures, liturgical practices, and theological independence.

Independence of Member Churches

The International Church recognizes that every affiliated church, congregation, and ministry remains fully autonomous.

Membership in the International Church does not alter or interfere with the theological doctrines, governance, worship practices, traditions, or internal administration of any affiliated church. Rather, the International Church provides a collaborative international platform for fellowship, cooperation, humanitarian outreach, and mutual support among Christian communities.

These services complement humanitarian relief efforts undertaken throughout the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement.

Together, members work to strengthen Christian fellowship while serving communities through humanitarian compassion and spiritual care.

International Cooperation

Working alongside the institutions of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement, the International Church contributes to humanitarian initiatives through spiritual accompaniment, community engagement, volunteer mobilization, and partnerships that foster peace, resilience, and social cohesion.

Its mission supports the Movement's broader humanitarian objectives while emphasizing the importance of faith, compassion, and unity in responding to human suffering.

Official Status

The International Church of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent operates as a constituent institution of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement, an international humanitarian, non-profit and charitable organization with Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2024.
