The International Federation of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC) is the global federation of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement, dedicated to strengthening National Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Societies, expanding humanitarian cooperation, and supporting vulnerable communities through volunteer action, emergency response, health initiatives, capacity development, and humanitarian diplomacy.
The federation works with its National Societies and humanitarian partners to build resilient communities before, during, and after disasters and public health emergencies.

The Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Society was granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in July 2024. This status enables participation, under applicable UN rules, in various ECOSOC processes and certain UN meetings, while also carrying ongoing reporting obligations. It does not make the organization part of the United Nations or authorize use of the UN emblem or claims of UN representation.
